Brazil’s largest stock exchange, B3, is set to introduce Ethereum and Solana futures contracts on June 16, 2025. These USD-settled contracts have been approved by Brazil’s securities regulator, CVM. The futures contracts will be tied to Nasdaq indices, with Ethereum contracts sized at 0.25 and Solana contracts at 5 units. B3 has also decided to decrease the size of Bitcoin futures contracts to 0.01 BTC to enhance accessibility for retail investors and bolster market liquidity.
The introduction of Ethereum and Solana futures on B3 marks a significant expansion in the availability of regulated digital asset derivatives. These contracts, denominated in USD, are a response to the increasing demand for secure exposure to digital assets. The official announcement from B3 regarding the launch of Ethereum and Solana futures follows the regulatory clearance received from Brazil’s Comissão de Valores Mobiliários (CVM). These futures contracts will be financially settled and will expire on the final Friday of each month. According to Marcos Skistymas, the product director at B3, the launch of Ethereum and Solana futures reflects the growing interest from investors in gaining exposure to digital assets in a regulated and secure manner.
