The Nasdaq posted a 6% monthly gain and an impressive 18% increase over the quarter. The Dow also rose by 4% in June, contributing to a notable rebound from April lows.

In the commodities and currency markets, oil prices experienced a slight decline, settling near US$65 a barrel. Gold prices rose to US$3,303 an ounce, while iron ore prices dipped to US$94.20 per tonne. The US dollar weakened against the euro, hitting a near four-year low amidst deficit concerns and ongoing trade tensions.
Looking at the Australian outlook, ASX futures point to a mildly softer open, down 3 points to 8,534. Despite this, the ASX 200 rallied 25% from April lows and closed the financial year with a robust 9.7% gain, marking its strongest annual performance since 2021.
