The Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) has recently expanded its collaboration with Beeks Group and IPC Systems to enhance its Colo 2.0 offering at a new data center. Beeks Group, a prominent provider of cloud computing and connectivity services for financial markets, has extended its partnership with JSE and IPC Systems. This development involves the deployment of Beeks’ Exchange Cloud service at the JSE’s Teraco data center, reinforcing the exchange’s Colo 2.0 offering with improved dual-location disaster recovery capabilities.
Colo 2.0, an advanced managed infrastructure service by JSE, powered by Beeks’ Exchange Cloud in conjunction with IPC, offers customers innovative hosting and connectivity solutions. These solutions enable access to on-demand private cloud computing and low latency analytics. By integrating at Teraco, Colo 2.0 not only enhances redundancy to meet regulatory requirements of major financial institutions but also showcases the operational flexibility facilitated by Beeks’ solutions and industry partnerships in market infrastructure.
The scalability and agility of Beeks’ Exchange Cloud, combined with IPC’s data center solutions, empower JSE to promptly address market needs and regulatory standards. By expanding operations to include a secondary data center, JSE ensures the resilience and adaptability of its infrastructure to cater to evolving customer demands effectively.
This expansion builds on the success of Colo 2.0’s initial launch in September 2023 and a subsequent contract extension in March 2024 due to high demand from the financial sector. Tebalo Tsoaeli, Chief Innovation Officer at JSE, emphasized the positive response to Colo 2.0, underlining the need for a secondary solution to meet redundancy and disaster recovery requirements as customer adoption surged.
Gordon McArthur, CEO of Beeks, expressed enthusiasm about the extended collaboration with JSE, citing the growing demand for the Colo 2.0 service and its success in the market. This partnership reflects the increasing adoption of cloud-based solutions in financial markets, particularly in regions like Africa experiencing rapid digital infrastructure development.
As financial markets prioritize security, scalability, and performance, Beeks’ proactive approach in delivering innovative solutions positions it as a key player in shaping the future of financial market infrastructure. The collaboration with JSE and IPC underscores Beeks’ leadership in providing technology solutions that address critical market needs and support continuous high performance and resilience.
