Moscow Exchange, a prominent financial institution, recently disclosed the updated indices following a comprehensive review by the Index Committee. These modifications, slated for implementation on December 20, 2024, were based on committee recommendations. Noteworthy adjustments include the incorporation of free floats and additional weighting factors for select companies.
The MOEX Russia Index and the RTS Index will witness changes with the inclusion of ordinary shares of IPJSC Headhunter, PJSC “Sovcombank,” and PJSC “UGC.” Simultaneously, depository receipts of Ozon Holdings PLC will be excluded from the constituent list. The Blue Chip Index will see PJSC “Moscow Exchange” and IPJSC Headhunter added while PJSC “MMK” and PJSC “Magnit” will be removed.
Furthermore, the SMID Index will now include PJSC Softline, PJSC PROMOMED, and PJSC “Rosseti Ural,” while ETALON GROUP PLC will exit. The Broad Market Index will welcome PJSC “Sovcombank,” “ARENADATA GROUP” PJSC, PJSC “Ozon Pharmaceuticals,” PJSC “SPB Exchange,” and PJSC IVA. On the other hand, Ozon Holdings PLC and ETALON GROUP PLC will depart from the index.
In the IT Index, “ARENADATA GROUP” PJSC and PJSC IVA will be incorporated, whereas Ozon Holdings PLC will be removed. PJSC “Ozon Pharmaceuticals” will join the sectoral Consumer Index, and PJSC “Sovcombank” and PJSC “SPB Exchange” will be part of the sectoral Financials Index. Depository receipts of ETALON GROUP PLC will exit the sectoral Real Estate Index.
Several companies are under consideration for inclusion in the MOEX Russia Index and the RTS Index, including PJSC “SFI,” MD Medical Group IPJSC, Renaissance Insurance Group PJSC, and PJSC “RussNeft.” Conversely, PJSC “Magnit,” PJSC “LC “Europlan,” PJSC “Samolet Group,” and preferred shares of PJSC “Mechel” are potential exclusions.
Moreover, the Exchange has introduced new free float coefficients for various companies, indicating changes in their market dynamics. Additionally, updated values of the additional weighting factor LW for specific companies have been made available.
This development underscores the continuous evolution of the Moscow Exchange indices, reflecting the dynamic nature of the financial markets and the Exchange’s commitment to transparency and efficiency.
